1998-2002 Honda Accord V6 Comptech Supercharger Kit Installation
1. Drain coolant from the radiator. Remove plastic engine covers. Disconnect Positive battery cable, battery tie-down, battery and battery tray. Remove inventory air box lid, filter & air box bottom. Label & disconnect hoses from air inlet tube. Loosen clamp and take away tube.
2. Bumper / Lower air box : Remove front bumper cover, (2) screws at high corners in wheel wells, (four) snap clips alongside grill prime, (four) snap clips underneath & (2) screws at the back of bumper beneath near wheels. Slide cowl ahead from clips underneath headlights to take away cowl & entry stock decrease air box. Take away (2) bolts holding air box to sub-frame. Decrease & take away inventory air-box. Take away inventory bracket in engine bay. Remove small rubber grommet in sub-frame subsequent to battery.
3. Radiator hose : Remove inventory higher radiator hose from engine & radiator. Take away spring clamps & reuse on new silicon hose in kit. (Substitute hoses are available exclusively by way of Comptech part 355-155). Change with new silicon hose rather than stock rubber hose. Remove coolant bypass hose from throttle body. Don’t remove manifold side until throttle physique has been relocated. Mark every coolant hose as they are disconnected. Don’t cross hoses throughout reassembly. Take away engine breather hose from valve cover.
4. Alternator harness : Take away bolt holding plastic cowl over wiring harness. Open snap clips on plastic cover & take away from wire harness. These wires might be rerouted along groove between plastic mount & cover.
5. Making ready alternator : Lift energy steering reservoir up out of bracket on sub-body rail and place out away from the belt assemblies. Take away stock power steering reservoir bracket. Loosen inventory alternator belt tensioner and remove stock alternator belt. Remove decrease bolt on alternator then take away upper bolt. Remove bracket connected to top of alternator. These bolts can be reused.
6. Alternator pulley alternative : With alternator pulley dealing with up take away inventory alternator pulley with a 22mm & 10mm wrench (an affect gun might must be used for removal). Install new alternator pulley (See Observe*) and tighten nut to 81.7 ft-lbs torque.
7. Alternator : Reinstall alternator in reverse order. Set up new metal alternator/blower bracket on prime of alternator utilizing manufacturing facility hardware. Torque to specs in Step 5. Substitute alternator belt in inventory location on inner pulley. Twist the loom mounting bracket towards engine to correctly route wire loom. Carefully route alternator wire loom, alongside entrance of cam cover. Keep it clear from all belts & pulleys. Take away oil dip stick and bend tube slightly away from engine in order that, with oil dipstick in place, dipstick is on exterior of wiring harness.
8. Blower brace : Find upper transmission elevate bracket. Take away front inventory bolt & install blower help with slotted facet down & offset in the direction of engine. Torque this bolt after putting in blower and aligning mount.
9. Fan shroud : Fan shroud requires modifications to keep from rubbing against blower underneath engine movement. Using a sanding disc or lower-off wheel, take away round nook portion of (2) most important support ribs and small prime rib. Sand these ribs to a few forty five° angle, trim off any excess plastic with a razor knife and clear up with a clean emery cloth.
10. Battery / Overflow : Mount battery tray utilizing inventory tray holes and bolts. Decrease new “51R” battery (not supplied in equipment) into tray with posts offset to inside body rail. Attach Comptech battery clamp utilizing equipped long bolt on proper & lengthy inventory “J” bolt on left. Connect constructive terminal only to battery. DO NOT CONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL UNTIL INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE!. Set up Comptech overflow bottle on entrance of battery tray. Refill with acceptable coolant. Connect lengthy siphon hose to bottom of overflow bottle lid and substitute on bottle.
